Napkin Folds on Videos : Napkin folding horn - Pliage en cornet
To fold a napkin into a horn shape, begin with the napkin fully opened on the table in front of you, in a large square shape. Fold the lower left and right corners upward until they meet their respective upper left and right corners. Smooth out any wrinkles by pressing your hands from the middle and moving outward. Fold the left edge over until it meets the right edge. Once again smooth out any wrinkles.
You are now viewing a smaller square. Rotate it 45 degrees so that your square becomes a diamond. Grasp the top point and fold down the top layer until it meets the point located at the bottom of your diamond. Neaten and smooth out your progress.
Take the layer you just folded downward, grasp its point (at the bottom of the diamond) and fold it upwards, except leave 2 inches unfolded below it, near the center fold line. At the center line, now fold the point downward again. Fold it up again, except for 2 inches below it.
Place a thumb in the middle of the center fold line to hold these layered folds in place. Fold one layer of cloth down from the top of your diamond and create another pattern just like the one you created at the bottom—this time an exact mirror image of the previous pattern.
Tightly holding your work in place, flip the napkin over, and then halve it so that your folds are on the outside. You should now be viewing a triangle shape with a series of sophisticated folds in its center. Holding those folds in place, carefully tuck the left and right sides of the triangle under, while staying just clear of the sophisticated folds area, so that it forms a rectangle.
Your horn-shaped napkin is now ready to be displayed.
