Napkin Folds on Videos : Napkin folding roof - Pliage en comble
To fold a napkin into a roof, begin with the napkin lying flat on the table in front of you. Take the bottom left and right corners and fold them upward so that they meet the upper left and right corners. Grasp the bottom left and right corners of your newly folded edge and pull gently to ensure there are no wrinkles. Follow this with a quick, light pat in the center, to make sure the napkin is resting flush against the table surface.
Take the lower right corner and fold it up toward the top middle of the napkin, forming a triangle shape on the right side. Take the upper left corner and fold it downward toward the lower middle of the napkin, forming a triangle shape on the left side. Ensure you have two perfectly unwrinkled and uniform triangles side by side, flush against one another, by adjusting as necessary.
Grasp the bottom left and bottom right sides, and carefully flip the entire napkin over, face-down. Be very cautious not to undo your folding progress as you do so. Take the point on the lower right and fold it directly upward so that it meets the middle of the top-right side of the napkin. Simultaneously take the middle of the left side and fold it directly upward so that it meets the point on the upper left.
Rotate the entire napkin 180 degrees. To verify, there should be two triangular points at the top of the napkin. Firmly smooth out the folds of the napkin to tidy it up. Take the lower left corner and fold sideways toward the right, so that the triangular point on the upper left folds in half at the point. Lift the middle flap that is underneath this newly folded area, hold it in the air, and place the lower part of the newly folded area under it. Then, put the middle flap over top of it.
Being cautious not to unfold your work, flip the entire napkin over. Take the lower left corner and fold it over so that it meets the lower right corner. Pat firmly in the center of the napkin to tighten all of its layers. Lift the lower right layer you just folded over and tuck it underneath the fold below it. Its corner should be nestled in the lower right corner of the inner fold.
Carefully place your hand into the large gap in the bottom of the napkin and open it up. Take this newly opened gap and place it face-down on the table, so that it rests upright to be displayed. Double check the peaks and folds to make sure everything is neat and perfect. You now have a napkin folded into a roof shape.
