Narbonne-Plage is a lovely Mediterranean resort town on the south coast of France with three miles of well-tended sandy beaches and more than 300 days of sun a year perfect for wind surfing, jet skiing, sand yachting, and dinghy sailing. People flock here yearly because of the endless leisure activities to choose from including crazy golf, quad bikes, cycling, hiking, horse riding, helicopter rides, and free evening entertainment. Within 15 minutes from the center of the town are a dozen vineyards. Gourmet restaurants, small resorts, bars, and self-catering villas are found in the heart of the town as well as the outskirts. A large limestone called La Clape massif separates the city of Narbonne proper and the Narbonne-Plage.

The Chateau Hospitalet is located a little further in land and serves the finest haute cuisine in the area in their two restaurants. The acclaimed restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine paired with exceptional wines from the chateau’s vineyards in a relaxing and elegant ambiance fashioned after a modern French bistro. The menu changes with the season and is based on fresh regional produce including olives, olive oil, jam, and honey.

Béatrice and Jacques Ribourel left behind their exciting urban lives; she worked before for the World Bank, he was a famous promoter, so as to settle in the Clape, and develop a vineyard in an exceptional site overhanging the sea, just a few kilometers from the Narbonne beach. Deep in the heart of the vineyards, they have created a wonderful tourist attraction, Domaine de l'Hospitalet, gathering altogether a restaurant according to Chef David Moreno's concept (1 star Michelin), vineyard-cooks, guestrooms, regional craftsmen, small museums, and temporary expositions. Sitting on the bench of meditation, they measure the distance covered and gloat over their success, especially the success of producing their own wines Béatrice, acknowledged by a great number of chefs.
